Newcastle or Bradford?

This article in the Sunday Times by Alan Milburn reflects all that is wrong with the regeneration efforts in Bradford. We have centralised and unworkable 2020 visions foisted on us by people who epitomise the Blind Smiley emblem in their inability to see the stark truth that imposed ideas by mad, bankrupt architects and social services control freaks will not work. We don't need some addled old Scot like Maud the Borg bent on destroying priceless local architecture so that one of her cronies can hoover up subsidies to build something utterly useless in its place. Before saying that can't happen just remember Aldermanbury House, jerry built without wall ties by one of the governments favourite and now failed outsourcing specialists.

The plan to demolish the Odeon has already swallowed vastly more money that it should have done and the moronic decision still hasn't been overturned. Personally I think there's a very good case for a public lynching of everyone in the Bradford Centre Regeneration regime, except of course for the inconvenient laws that prevent such expressions of public opinion.
