Does anyone really think that Bradford Council are in the least concerned by the £12,000,000 increase to the total cost of Bradford-i? All that will happen is that the powers that be will, once again, increase our council tax in order to meet the increase. After all, it's only our money they are spending.
Given that I have had no pay increase at all for more than two years, and that every household bill has increased enormously over that period, I'd very much like to know from exactly where Bradford Council expect me, and others like me to continue finding the funding to meet ridiculously high increases in council tax. Even after Child Tax Credit has been taken into account, I am still barely able to meet my total monthly/quarterly bills.
Maybe the council members will volunteer to forego their pay increase or take a pay cut to help meet the £12,000,000 shortfall but, I very much doubt that it will happen this side of doomsday. Well, I have news for the council. At the next local/general election, my entire family, and many of our friends will be voting BNP.
