Two items have come to my attention that illustrate the failure of capitalism.
Firstly we have all the moronic vested interests whining about the company parking surcharge that is being imposed by Nottingham. The amount is £185 per year per parking space (and only if the company has more than 10). Thus for the largest fat capitalist swine in Nottingham the charge is less than £1m - on profits of £953m .... before £705m paid to the private equity parasites sucking the blood from Alliance Boots. Do these overpaid gits look for ways to reduce their need for parking to less than 10 ... nope all they do is whine and say that they should be allowed to do what they like and reach for the lawyers.
Secondly we have the justification for paying executives stupid sums on the grounds there are very few people who can run a large company. Utter bollocks, having audited a number of large companies I can confidently say that there are no geniuses in business. Instead there are some averagely capable people stupid enough to waste their life being bored stiff. Industry's problem is not lack of talent - every student who goes to Oxford or Cambridge is more than capable of the minor challenges of slave driving for corporate profit - the problem is that almost all people capable of doing the job wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. I have yet to see anything that I couldn't do I so wish (and yes that includes sport - the year I bothered trying I managed 4th out of 300 on the School Cross Country - rather better than my previous best in the 250s, arty farty crap ... producer of winning house play and runaway winner of the essay prize despite all the arty farty twats slogging away for weeks) the trouble for industry is that they have nothing I or anyone of my like wants. I will work no harder than is necessary to avoid starvation and (more importantly) amuse myself.
